When teaching, my job is to build my student’s confidence, both in their art and in themselves. By creating a nurturing environment where experimentation and “mistakes” are encouraged, students have the opportunity to express themselves without fear of reprisal. This allows students to unveil their personal identity, experiment with topics that may be new to them, and have a safe place to discuss these topics and their work together as a community.
